Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

 

Credit Card Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed. They are only decrypted after they reach the banking system computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. Your Security is vital to us.

Delivery

When possible we arrange to dispatch your goods immediately using specialist delivery teams throughout the UK. If your order is not stocked or unavailable for immediate delivery we will call or e-mail to advise. Please see Delivery section on main menu.

Guarantee

We guarantee your satisfaction with the product quality. Each product has a different warranty please call for more information. ‘This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer’. If you have a complaint on any product or service we provide this will be responded to within 5 working days.

Making A Purchase

Purchasing is easy and secure. Simply browse through the online shop and click on any items that you wish to examine further, displaying larger images and brochure pictures (where available). If you wish to purchase select the items, the quantity and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on “Order” and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order Edward James retains no financial information on its customers and all payments are transacted through a secure payment system (SECPay) recommended by our Bankers. We accept credit card payment. We accept Visa, Switch and MasterCard. To reduce overheads and to ensure total security of payment details we only transact over the Internet. Although we endeavour to display correct pricing and description at all times, Edward James reserve the right to refuse the sale if the pricing information and/or descriptions prove to be incorrect at the time of processing. ‘This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer’.

Privacy Policy

Edward James does not disclose buyer’s information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item.

Returns Policy

Please inspect your goods immediately on delivery, no claims with regard to damaged items can be made after the courier has left delivery address, unless signed for as damaged on delivery. Damaged goods should be returned with the courier. We do not accept part order returns, but we will accept complete order returns for whatever reason within 7 days of receipt providing the items are unopened in the Original Packaging. You will need to return the goods back to us via your chosen courier, and a 30% handling charge paid by purchaser will be deducted from your credit note. This can be done by email to info@edwardjamesoak.co.uk or calling 02083731045. ‘This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer’. We cannot accept returned goods if they are no longer saleable.

We will accept whole orders back unopened, whatever the reason of return, with the original packaging for within 7 days. The goods should be returned back to us and the cost of delivery will need to be covered by you. The goods should be returned back to us and the cost of both inward and outward delivery will need to be met by you. There will also be an administration fee of 5% of the total order returned. If the goods sent to you are not as per your order form these fees will be wavered.

Standard Product can only be accepted for restocking if they are undamaged and in the original packaging and within 28 days of receipt. A 30% handling charge of the returned goods value is payable.

For bespoke products (which can not be restocked), the handling charge payable is 50% of the order value.

Please check your order form to confirm that you have ordered the correct goods to avoid any confusion.

Paid orders that are cancelled less than 24hrs before delivery will be subject to and an administration charge of 5% and possibly a delivery charge if the goods have already been dispatched

We do not accept part order returns.

Delivery costs can only be refunded if the return is due to an error on our part.

Before installing the boards all reasonable care should be taken to ensure that ALL the boards are flawless. We will not accept claims for damaged, faulty or part damaged items once the flooring has been laid. Once the goods have started to be installed or used in any other way it will be taken as conclusive evidence that the buyer has accepted that ALL goods are in good order. You must accept full responsibility for the suitability of the goods ordered for the purpose to which they are put.

All credits will be processed within 28 days.

The refund will be paid within 30 days.

There is a 7 days term to return the goods to us. Please note that you must send an email to our support team and ask for a returns number before to write on your boxes. Only based on that returns number and after checking the goods we will be able to make refunds. All goods must be received in same condition as original and in the same protective original packaging. All cancellations are subject to 20-40 % charge of the initial order to cover our, distributor or manufacturer restocking costs and other costs that occur. We strongly recommend getting enough information on a product before buying so this charge will not be passed on to you.

If goods arrive damaged the customer must sign for them as damaged. The person receiving them must check the delivery pack by pack and count the number of packs on the order. If a pallet has been sent out all packs on the pallet must be checked. Claims after 24 hours that goods arrived damaged cannot be made as the carrier will not accept any claims after. Customers should not book any fitting service before having the goods delivered. We cannot guarantee deliveries because of stock levels and courier not being able to deliver. We reserve the right to charge the card used with us for up to £ 40 to cover redelivery charges in case the customer is not in.

Shipping and Handling

Once orders are placed delivery will be arranged directly with the customer to ensure delivery dates are convenient. Please note that if no one is available to accept delivery when it is made there will be a charge of £40 for the failed delivery and, should the order then be cancelled, the re-stocking charge will apply. Flooring deliveries are made to the ‘kerb side’ at the nearest access point to the delivery address for the delivery vehicle. The driver may require help unloading the goods. It is assumed that the delivery address will be accessible by lorry. If there is likely to be a problem, e.g. the road is subject to a vehicle weight or width limit, please inform us whilst arranging delivery with our staff. The person who placed the order will need to be at the delivery address to sign for the goods, the delivery slot on a given day is any time between 8am and 6pm.Please inspect your goods immediately on delivery as no claims with regard to damaged items or incorrect goods can be made after the courier has left delivery address, unless signed for as damaged or wrong goods delivered on delivery note. Standard Conditions of Trading

EDWARD JAMES STANDARD CONDITIONS OF TRADING

1. (a) All sales shall be deemed to be made between the buyer and Edward James in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Sale herein after mentioned. In the event of any conflict between the Conditions and any terms and conditions put forward by the Buyer, these conditions shall prevail.

(b) All representation on behalf of Edward James are valid only if they confirmed in writing and the Buyer shall not rely upon any representation unless confirmed in writing.

(c) The prices for all materials or goods supplied and transportation shall be strictly in accordance with those prices at the time of order currently notified and published by Edward James unless otherwise confirmed in writing by Edward James.

Goods are not sold (or tested) as conforming to any British Standard Specification or as fit for any particular purpose, unless expressly so stated in writing, and any term, condition or warranty that the goods are so fit is excluded.

2. All goods are to be paid for at the time of ordering, unless some other terms have been specifically agreed in writing between the buyer and Edward James. Any overdue accounts will attract a charge of interest at the rate of 2% above the base rate per month or part thereof. In the event that Court proceedings have been instigated, all costs relating to such proceedings will become the responsibility of the Buyer.

3. The ownership of the goods shall not pass to the Buyer until the Buyer has paid to Edward James the whole price thereof. The Buyer agrees that, prior to the payment of the whole price of the goods, Edward James may, at any time enter upon the Buyer’s premises and remove the goods and that the Buyer shall keep the goods separate and identifiable for this purpose. The buyer may not install the goods prior to completion of payment in full. Not withstanding that ownership of the goods shall not pass to the Buyer save as provided above, the goods shall be at the risk of the Buyer from the time of collection or delivery to him of the goods.

4. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check the goods for damage or wrong delivery before accepting delivery. No claim for damages or wrong delivery can be made if the carriers receipt is signed as goods received in good condition. Any claim for damages or wrong delivery must be made in writing within 3 days of receipt of goods, failing which all claims shall be deemed to be waived.

5. Whilst every effort will be made by Edward James to ensure that the correct quantity and quality of goods are delivered within a timely manner to the buyer, neither James James or the manufacturer shall be liable for any damages caused by such omissions or delays.

6. In installing or using any goods or equipment supplied by Edward James the purchaser shall observe all instructions, directions and warnings issued by Edward James or the manufacturer.

7. In cases of faulty or defective goods the liability of the seller shall be limited in value to the sum paid for the goods.

8. All cases of force majeure such as wars, riots, strikes, lockouts, bankruptcy, fire, water damage, delay in transport, lack of means of transport, breakdown in factories or those of our suppliers or any other unforeseeable events give us the right to postpone the fulfilment of the contract, as well as to cancel it partially or wholly without thereby conferring on the Buyer the right to claim damages against Edward James or the manufacturers.

9. The contract between Edward James and the Buyer shall be deemed to have been made at the office of Edward James, Beaumont Villas, 9 Shenley Road, Radlett, Hertfordshire, WD7 7DH.

10. All contracts subject to these Conditions between the Buyer and Edward James shall be subject to and interpreted in accordance with English law and the Buyer hereby agrees to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts in respect of all claims, disputes or differences arising out of or in connection with any such contract.

Accessory Sales

Accessories are normally only sold together with flooring products. In the event that accessories are ordered without flooring a delivery charge of £35 may be levied.

Tax Charges

For orders placed in the UK, the current enforced level of VAT is added (20% as of January 2011), unless otherwise indicated.
